Plucked Strings

The standard six string acoustic guitar is the most commonly learnt. It is usually played while sitting with the body of the guitar resting on your lap, strings plucked with your right hand and left hand has further control of the pitch, moving up and down the fretboard. At JMH, guitar is taught in many ways. You can choose between acoustic, electric, classical, and bass. You can also choose the style you wish to learn, for example classical, pop or rock. You can ask for advice on how to buy a guitar.

The ukulele, sometimes abbreviated to uke, is a small guitar-like instrument that has four strings. The tone and volume of the instrument vary with size and construction. Ukuleles commonly come in four sizes: soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone.

The harp is a multi-string instrument on which the graduating parallel strings are supported by a frame and played by plucking the strings with the fingers. There are many different types of harps. The harp is one of the most rare and expensive instruments. Jacaranda Music Hub unfortunately doesn't currently have a harp teacher but can recommend a qualified teacher to offer tuition to anyone wishing to learn and offer advice on how to obtain a harp.
